Dev Anand is no more

The evergreen, ever energentic, youth energy of Bollywood died of cardiac arrest in London on 4th December 2012. The legendary actor who was the craze among youth during 50s, 60s and 70s never gave up his passion for the movies till his last breath. Dev Anand was also awarded Dada Saheb Phalke award in 2002.

In 50s it was Dev Anand who was ahead of the times compared to his peers. He experimented diffferent looks, did different roles. Rightly he was termed as the God of Style during those times. Dev Anand was Youth icon in those days and it was also rumoured that he was asked not to wear Black Dress as the girls went berserk after seeing him in black. Dev Anand has directed and produced number of movies. Guide was ahead of times and in those days no one could dared to portray a lady having an extra marital affair.

In Hare Rama Hare Krishna Dev Anand again highlighted the burning issue of Drugs and the Movie is still relevant to these times.

Though his movies didn't fare well in the Box Ofice after the 80s. Swami Dada introduced Jacki Shroff, then Hum Nojwan, Mr Prime Minister and many others did not do well in the Box Office. But that did not deter his passion to make movies. He was making films even at the age of 88 before he died.

Dev Anand discovered number of actressed and was famous for casting the fresh new faces in his movies. Hema Malini, Zeenat Aman, Tina Munim to name a few.

May Dev Anand's soul rest in peace. The othre legends like Amitabh, Lata Mangeshkar, Shahrukh Khan, and others have mourned the death of legendary actor
